Arcane Lore and Legacy

Among Wiccan culture, practitioners of magic are divided into four distinct Arcane Orders, each rooted in one of the classical elements: Earth, Fire, Water, and Air. These orders embody unique cultures, hierarchies, and traditions, representing the diverse magical arts practiced by their members.

The Arcane Orders are split between two regions. Glimmerbrook, a land of enchantment and light, is home to the Order of Air and the Order of Water, which are aligned with white magic and practices of harmony, creativity, and transformation. Meanwhile, Ravenwood, a realm of shadow and fire, harbors the Order of Fire and the Order of Earth, which delve into black magic and the raw, untamed forces of nature and power. The regions deeply shape the magical philosophies and traditions of their respective orders.

Each Arcane Order specializes in a particular domain of magic while sharing certain foundational knowledge. Their combined expertise often gives them an edge in conflicts against other occult beings, such as werewolves, vampires, and even humans.

Though indistinguishable from regular humans by vital signs, members of the Arcane Orders blend seamlessly into society. While most practitioners are mortal, some achieve immortality or greatly extended lifespans. Each order is led by a single leader, and these leaders convene as the High Order of Four to address matters affecting the magical realm worldwide.

Glimmerbrook: Life and Light

Representing the brighter, nurturing, and intellectual aspects of magic, Glimmerbrook is home to the following orders:

Order of Air
Guardians of freedom and vision, they harness the winds of knowledge and the currents of magic to shape destiny.
Leader: Alaric Latimer – With long, ethereal hair the color of sunlight filtering through clouds and striking silver eyes that gleam with quiet intensity, Alaric embodies the boundless and elusive spirit of air. As a descendant of one of the oldest magical lineages, his presence is as commanding as the currents he wields, blending freedom and vision with an otherworldly grace.

Order of Water
Masters of transformation and enchantment, they weave fluid magic to create and shape the impossible.
Leader: Aubrey Brookmere – A magnetic and innovative enchantress with a celebrated family history. Her flowing blonde hair mirrors the golden glimmer of sunlight on tranquil streams, while her piercing blue eyes evoke the clarity and depth of crystalline waters. Her name, Brookmere, embodies her profound connection to water’s grace and adaptability, reflecting her natural affinity for the element’s boundless power.

Ravenwood: Death and Fire

Harnessing the destructive, transformative, and shadowy aspects of magic, Ravenwood houses these orders:

Order of Fire
Necromancers of life and death, they wield fire’s primal and transformative energy to connect with the departed and master the cycle of decay and rebirth.
Leader: Leeora Latimer – Born from the tragic yet extraordinary union of Seraphina Latimer, the revered High Enchantress of the ancient Latimer lineage, and Caelan Vatore, an immortal vampire descended from one of the oldest and most powerful vampiric bloodlines, Leeora’s very existence is a miracle of forbidden love. Seraphina, whose life was cut short in her prime, lives on only in memory, while Caelan remains an eternal figure shrouded in mystery. Leeora carries the weight of both their legacies, her haunting silver eyes and fiery red hair a testament to her dual heritage. She wields necromancy with unparalleled mastery, commanding the flames of rebirth and destruction, while navigating the perilous bridge between two worlds destined to remain apart.

Order of Earth
Mages of raw energy, they draw strength from the earth’s resilience, harnessing its power to protect, restore, and command the natural cycles.
Leader: Gwydion ap Aberffraw – An ancient Welsh mage whose legend stretches back to the dawn of recorded history. With jet-black hair like the depths of an untouched cavern and piercing dark eyes that hold the weight of centuries, Gwydion is deeply attuned to the enduring mysteries and primal forces of the earth. It is whispered that he has been reborn countless times, his presence recorded in ancient texts and carvings, always tied to the earth’s most profound events. In a desperate bid for a legacy, he abducted the granddaughter of the ancient Vatore lineage. Yet, in an unexpected twist, what began as a ruthless act became a love story that transcended time, leaving an indelible mark on his otherwise solitary journey.
